Ephraim King MA, Managing Director and CEO
Frank Ephraim King (also known as FE or Effie) has been a major player in the information development field since 1996. He served as team leader and project manager for documentation projects in many different fields including semiconductors, communications, information technology, military and civil aviation, medical technologies, virtualization, and cloud computing. Ephraim has taught extensively in the hi-tech community, and has several years’ experience training new technical writers. His teaching techniques include anecdotes and tips for success from his own real-life work experiences.
Ephraim holds a Master’s degree from the University of Florida and is active in several community organizations.
Perry Smith BSc, Director of Intellectual Property Strategy
Perry brings over 35 years’ experience in embedded processor and IoT applications, including managing of interdisciplinary hardware, software and security teams. Combining this with his over 5 years’ experience as Vice President of Intellectual Property Strategy, BSc in Physics from SUNY at Albany and his MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickenson University, allows Perry to analyze problems from a multi-disciplinary viewpoint.
Leah Guren, Technical Communications Lecturer
Leah Guren has been active in the field of technical communication since 1980 and now devotes her time to training and consulting. Leah works with technical communication teams all over the world, using humor and a lively interactive training approach to help them solve their biggest content development challenges. She also provides consulting services to companies, emphasizing documentation UX and creating global-ready content. Leah’s clients include some of the top high-tech and biotech companies, including Intel, IBM, Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson, RAD, Cisco, Medtronic, and Rambam Medical Center. Leah is popular speaker in the field of technical communication, a published author, and one of the leading instructors in the field. She has helped hundreds of new practitioners enter the field of technical communication in Israel, the United States, and throughout Europe.
Leah is a Fellow in the Society for Technical Communication, President of the Israel chapter, and a founding member of tekom Israel.
Larry Butchins, Marketing Communications (MARCOM)
Larry has more than 30 years’ experience as a content developer, writer, editor, publisher, presentation and video producer, website and blog creator, lecturer, journalist, published author and screenwriter.
Working with Israeli and international high-tech companies, he has developed Marketing Communication strategies; collateral, documentation, PR strategies, advertising concepts and copy writing, branding, crowd-funding campaigns, on-line training and e-learning programs. Clients have included Comverse, Allot Communications, Cellebrite, Cielo, legal firms, medical and pharma developers and a number of start-ups.
While focusing on telecommunications and cyber security, Larry also has additional wide experience in the investment banking, industrial, commercial, travel and the community service sectors.
In September 2018 Larry published his novel “Train in the Distance” based on his experiences as a journalist in apartheid South Africa and Intifada Israel and is now working on the screenplay in the development phase of a TV series based on the book. He has also published two children’s books in South Africa and the United States.
In addition, Larry periodically writes articles for the Jerusalem Report and publishes a travel blog “The Off Beat Traveler”.
If you are ever strolling around Tel Aviv and looking at restored buildings in the “White City” conservation project, Larry is responsible for the English text on the buildings’ information plaques.
Daniëlla Frost – Career Specialist and Social Media Coordinator
Daniëlla began her career as an IT Recruiter and soon started to focus on Social Recruiting, mainly through LinkedIn.
In 2014 she came to the conclusion that she wanted to use her social media experience to train and help others with their online presentation. Since then she has been able to teach entrepreneurs, (independent) professionals, job seekers and recruiters – both individually, in groups as at companies – how they can get the most out of LinkedIn and other Social Media platforms.
As a Social Media Manager, she helps companies elevate their social presence by taking Social Media Management out of their hands.
Daniëlla completed here degree in Marketing with a minor in Entrepreneurship at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
Nadine Wildman MBA, Marketing, Training and Webmaster
Nadine Wildmann is a senior level international marketing professional with expertise encompassing project management, website planning and development, social media, branding, marketing and online fundraising campaigns. Previous positions in Jerusalem include the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem, the Pardes Institute, Versaware Technologies, The Learning Company and Accent Software. Experience in the U.S. includes Bozell Worldwide, Chiat/Day, D’Arcy Worldwide, Chrysler Imports, Continental Airlines, Canon Computers, Lorimar Television, McDonalds, and B’nei Akiva.
Nadine has an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BA in Mass Media Communications from UCLA.
Jason Novich, MBA, Business Strategy Manager & Senior Lecturer
Jason Novich brings over 20 years’ experience in technical support, field application engineering, agile and waterfall project management, and product marketing and management. Jason has worked closely with large multinationals including IBM, Dell, and Cisco. Jason is also a successful Entrepreneur and had identified a niche market and successfully built his technical support company called TRA Computers from the ground up. Within three years, TRA Computers boasted over 100 satisfied customers with over $100K of annual revenue.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Touro College; and Masters of Science degree in Technology Management and a Master Business Administration from the University of Maryland at College Park.
Tziona DelMonte MBA, Guest Lecturer
Tziona Juliana (TJ) DelMonte is an M.B.A. in Triple-Bottom-Line Business, and a B.A. from Berkeley in Natural Resource Management. TJ has extensive global experience including North and South America, Iceland, Europe, Australia/New Zealand, India, and Middle East. And she has worked for nearly 20 years to deliver to market laser-sharp solutions to real-world problems in health-tech, clean-tech, green-tech, ag-tech and eco-tech. As an entrepreneur and executive she has worn all the hats including planning and feasibility, strategy and market evaluation, product research and development, supply chain development, product and team management, marcom and sales, 360 degree evaluation, reporting and backcasting.
TJ has many stories to tell, a couple of the highlights of which include producing more than 825,000 consumer responses in 2 months to put 11 Colorado citizen’s initiatives on the ballot (3 were approved into law), and leading from ideation through Certificate of Occupancy a $4M, 20-dunam, green-built startup Bustan, featuring over 8000 m2 of small business space, 6500 m2 of solar capability, and 600 m2 of community garden space.
Daniel Feldman MSc, Project and Training Manager
Daniel Feldman, based in New York, has been developing and delivering training programs for 25 years. He specializes in full project development, including analyzing business training needs, designing manuals and technical materials, delivering classroom and on-line courses, and providing post-training assessment and support. He is a certified MS Office Master Trainer and a certified Oracle SQL Programmer. He earned a Master of Science degree in Organizational Behavior from Polytechnic University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Brooklyn College.
Daniel has written extensively and taught courses in business ethics and in enhancing learning performance.
Isaac Cabelli BSc, Mechanical Engineer and Technical Writer
Isaac Cabelli has more than 15 years of extensive experience both in technical and marketing writing about hi- tech electronic systems, operation, software, marketing, telecommunications, installation and maintenance manuals, IPB and GUI and as a senior mechanical engineer in the development and operation of systems for space, defense, aerospace and high technology semiconductor industry.
Isaac’s technical writing projects for leading companies included: Manuals, user guides, and training documentation for a diverse cross-section of Israeli companies including ELOP, IAI, Magal, Tadiran, Elta, Elbit and Ormat.
Isaac held several senior engineering positions working with multidisciplinary teams on the development of microwave landing systems, space telescopes, communication satellites, scientific satellites payloads and experiments, handling and robotic systems and medical instruments.
Isaac holds a B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering from the University of Concordia UVM, Montreal.
Tom Harris MsM, Software and Quality Assurance (QA)
Tom Harris brings lengthy experience in Quality Assurance (QA) and software programming and helped register end-to-end secure pay TV system software. As group leader he directed support teams for static analysis, code review 2 patents. A long standing QA leader and embedded software programmer for Cisco/NDS, Tom trained Agile Scrum teams and product managers and implemented scrambler technologies for video set-up boxes for, and testing coverage tools.
Tom holds a B.S. in Engineering, with Honors from Swarthmore College and certifications as a Professional Scrum Master I (Scrum.org), Cisco Ninja Green Belt: Information and Code Security, and the Foundation Certificate in Software Testing (ISTQB).
Craig Preston MSM, Computer Instructor
Craig Preston has been teaching computer skills privately since 1997 and is known for his patient attention to the needs of both novice and older students. He teaches computer basics (including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel & Outlook) and photo editing to the new user, but can help the experienced user be more efficient in his/her work as well. Craig can also troubleshoot many computer problems, install programs, set up internet services, and implement Voice-Over IP (VOIP) telephone service.
Craig’s varied experience includes managing a software library, computerizing the financial planning departments at two major aerospace companies in the United States, and creating and designing a computerized inventory system for a major cosmetics company.
Volunteering is also important to Craig. He has trained physically challenged individuals on computers with the assistance of adaptive equipment, including ergonomic and special-size keyboards, head pointers, and foot-operated devices (mouse, keyboard, etc.).
Craig has a Master of Science in Management from Boston University with additional software, hardware, and IT training. He is also a certified:
- Certified Novell Administrator (CNA)
- CompTIA A+ certified PC Technician.
Meir Schreiber BSc, Project Manager and Software Engineer
Meir has over 23 years of experience in the software field, with wide experience in Project Management, Application Design and Architecture, System Analysis and Database Design and Implementation. Over the years, Meir has applied his knowledge to a variety of projects, in companies of various sizes, from startups to corporations.
Meir holds a Bachelor’s degree in Software engineering (cum laude), from the Jerusalem College of Technology, and is also registered as an Engineer in the Israeli association of Engineers.
Doug Greener, Public Relations Manager
Doug Greener has been involved in editing, public relations, advertising and direct marketing in Israel since 1971. Doug has worked for Shaare Tzedek Hospital and Hadassah Hospital as well as other clients through independent agencies.
He established MediawiSe Advertising in 1982, specializing in print advertising and direct mail. MediawiSe was the representative office of the Draft Worldwide international network of direct marketing agencies for over twelve years, servicing local and international clients.
Eliram Braudo MSc, API Specialist, Technical Writer and Translator
Eliram Braudo has worked in various high-tech industries since 1977, in the fields of real-time, computer embedded systems, programming in Assembler and C languages and their documentation including editing and maintaining reference manuals and integration guides, writing user guides, and editing and proofreading technical and scientific documentations in general using MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker/Acrobat, Oracle relational data base management system, and software configuration management tools.
For the past few years, Eliram has worked mainly in translation, both English to Hebrew and vice-versa, of technical, communications, legal, literary, and academic works (such as a PhD theses).
Eliram has served on the board of the Israel chapter of the STC (Society of Technical Communications), and is currently on the board of the Israel Translators Association. Eliram hold a Bachelor’s degree in Physics and a Master’s degree in Geophysical and Atmospheric Sciences, both from Tel Aviv University.
